The ceremonial parade dedicated to the 77th anniversary of WWII Victory was held in Perm.

The march in review by Perm permanent post through the October Square in the center of the city was watched by over 18,000 residents. The Immortal Regiment march was joined by 46,500 people

After two years of coronavirus lockdown measures, Perm held a massive festive parade  dedicated to the Victory Day. About 18,000 people came to the city center to see the parade  of the Perm garrison and special military vehicles. 

Mayor of Perm Aleksei Demkin addressed the war veterans, parade participants and spectators, emphasizing that the Victory Day is a sacred and most important holiday for the Permians as well as for the millions of Russians. 

– We have gathered here today to praise the glorious act of heroism by our grandfathers and great-grandfathers, their Victory over Nazism.  On this sacred day, I would also like to say again the words of thanks to those who laboured in the rear to make this victory happen.  We endlessly esteem your heroic deeds in the name of the coming generations”, said Alexey Dyomkin  

About 1,500 military order marched through the square, led by the corps of drums of the Perm Cadet School and the WWII fronts banners.  The marchers were then joined by 24 various military vehicles, with a BTR-82A as the lead vehicle. 

The ceremonial parade this year was followed by the Immortal Regiment march – 46,500  people carrying the photos of their relatives – war  members  marched  down the Komsomolsky Avenue. The procession was joined by Perm Region Governor Dmitry Makhonin, Mayor of Perm Aleksei Demkin, local MPs. 

Those who were unable to get into the October Square could watch the parade on-line  on a large  screen on the building of the Drama theatre as well as in social media.
